Middle School Players

Serving It Up (a no cost tennis camp)
After School Tennis Camp for Middle School Players
May 20 - 23, 2024 from 2:45 to 4:45
Hastings Middle School Tennis Courts

If you are in grades 5 to 8, this camp is for you.  The camp will be led by middle school tennis coaches and high school tennis players.  Players will participate in drills that will develop ground stroke, volley, overhead and serving skills.  There will also be both singles and doubles match play.  On Thursday, May 23rd, the camp will end with a pizza party.

Pre-Season Tune-Up
Hastings High School

Drills and match play designed for players who want to get a jump start on the summer season.  A total of 7.5 ours of instruction provided over five sessions.  The cost is $8 per session.  
          Friday Evenings from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM:  May 19, 26 and June 2
          Sunday Evenings from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM:  May 21 & 28


YOUTH LESSONS
 

Hastings Tennis Association's coaches are available for individual and group lessons.  Email hastingstennis@comcast to schedule.


Drills and Match Play
Grades 5 - 12
 

Drills and Match Play (For Students Going into Grades 5 & 6)
Hastings High School Courts 

Drills will focus on basic tennis stroke technique and general singles and doubles strategy.  The drills and match play will be on Tuesday and Thursday.  There will be two three-week sessions.  The cost is $90 per session
Session I
June 13, 15, 20, 22, 27 & 29 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM  
Session II
July 11, 13, 18, 25, 27 & August 1 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM

Drills and Match Play (For Students Going into Grades 7 to 12)
Hastings High School Courts 

High performance drills and match play led by USPTA/PTR Pros and high school coaches.  Drills will focus on creating technical proficiency and improving players’ ability to construct points. Drills will also focus on all tennis stokes as well as footwork.  To ensure that all participants receive the best instruction possible, the instructors will divide the players into two groups.  Tier I is designed for players in Grades 7-8 and Tier II is designed for players in Grades 9-12.   There will be two sessions as follows:

Monday Drills/Match Play (June 12, 19 & 26)
            Tier I Group             5:00 PM to 6:45 PM
            Tier II Group            6:45 PM to 8:30 PM
Wednesday Drills/Match Play Component (June 14, 21 & 28)
            Tier I Group              5:00 PM to 6:45 PM
            Tier II Group             6:45 PM to 8:30 PM  
Session II
Monday Drills/Match Play Component (July 10, 17, 24)
            Tier I Group             5:00 PM to 6:45 PM
            Tier II Group            6:45 PM to 8:30 PM
Wednesday Drills/Match Play Component (July 12, 19 & 26)
            Tier I Group              5:00 PM to 6:45 PM
            Tier II Group             6:45 PM to 8:30 PM

This is a free event

Join us for a night of fund activities.  There will be tennis games, tennis matches/drills and snacks at the end!

Junior Team Tennis
Junior Team Tennis (JTT) is a USTA sanctioned program for players desiring to play weekly matches against teams from neighboring communities.  USTA Junior Team Tennis brings together boys and girls to play singles, doubles and mixed doubles against other coed teams. Beyond being fun and a great form of exercise, Junior Team Tennis is a competitive, level-based environment that promotes individual growth, social growth and life skills.  With Junior Team Tennis, players learn about unity, sportsmanship and how to work together to achieve success.  For more information on Junior Team Tennis click on the link below the picture.
