45th Hastings Rivertown Days Tennis Tournament (July 20-July 23, 2023)

Tournament Description

In 2023, Hastings will be celebrating its 45th Rivertown Days Tennis Tournament.  Help us reach our goal of 200 entries in 2023.  There are events for juniors and adults of all abilities.  The tournament is a non-sanctioned USTA event but USTA rules will be followed.  Proceeds from the tournament are used to support player development and outreach programs at both the junior and adult levels in Hastings and surrounding communities.  The tournament is sponsored by Hastings Tennis Association, a Minnesota 501(c)(3) non profit, and the Hastings Women’s Tennis League.




Singles - Boys and Girls U12, U14, U16 and U18

Doubles - Boys and Girls U14 and U18

Mixed Doubles – U14 and U18

Singles - Men and Women Division I and Division II*

Doubles - Men and Women Division I and Division II*

Mixed Doubles - Division I,  Division II* & Division III

* In general Division I is for players with a USTA ranking 4.0 and higher and Division II is for players ranked 3.5 and Division III is 3.0 or lower.

Preferred brackets are eight and sixteen.  Divisions may be combined, cancelled or modified if necessary to accommodate the preferred bracket format. 

Cost is $30 per player for singles and $20 per player for doubles and mixed doubles.

Match Format

  • All players are guaranteed two matches for each event entered.
  • Scoring format will be a 10 game pro set with a seven point tie break at 9-9.

Tournament Awards

First and Second place awards will be given for each event.

Tournament Location

The site for the tournament headquarters will be Hastings High School Tennis Courts.   Matches will be played on three sites.

THURSDAY, JULY 20 (starting at 8:00 AM for juniors)

All rounds men’s doubles (If the doubles draw is 16, the final & consolation  matches will be played on Sunday)


SUNDAY, JULY 23 (starting at 8:00 AM for juniors and adults)

Juniors (all age levels)

No scheduled matches due to USTA JTT Sections



Men’s and women’s singles final/consolation  round

All rounds mixed doubles

If men’s doubles’ draw is 16, the final and consolation matches will be played Sunday

Some matches will be played under the lights at the Roadside Tennis Courts.

Brackets with date, time and location for each event will be posted on the RTD Tournament pages on Hastings Tennis Association’s website (

In Case of Increment Weather

In case of inclement weather, Hastings Tennis Association reserves the right:

  • to shorten the match format if there are long rain delays;
  • to start matches earlier on Friday, if rain delays occur on Thursday and
  • to extend tournament play to Monday evening.
