On November 19, 2017 at USTA Northern's annual awards banquet held at the Minnesota Valley Country Club in Bloomington, MN, HTA's very own Colby Zak received the Jerry Noyce Junior Sportsmanship Award.  This award is given to the junior player who not only displays the finest qualities of sportsmanship during tournament play, but who also demonstrates exemplary conduct away from the courts.

Colby has played Junior Team Tennis since 2013 and was a member of the Hastings Blue team which won the USTA Northern 14U Intermediate Section title in 2015 where he was named the Boys Sportsmanship Award winner.  His team went on to finish 12th at the USTA JTT National Championship that year and once again, he was the Boys Overall Sportsmanship winner.

Colby is a freshman honors student and a class officer at Hastings High School.  He is a three sport athlete: football, basketball and tennis.  He has played varsity tennis since seventh grade and this past year, he played #3 singles.

Colby is the son of Pete and Michelle Zak.
