John Rupp is HTA Player of the Week

By HTA, 07/20/16, 7:00PM CDT

The past week has been an extremely busy one for Hastings Tennis and during this hectic period, one individual stood.

This individual is John Rupp. Rupp, a player on the U18 Raiders, had a great week of tennis. First, at the Rivertown Days Tennis Tournament, Rupp played mixed doubles with Amy Roach and he also played singles. In the first round of singles, he mounted an impressive comeback. Although Rupp is a great tennis player, the thing that the HTA coaches notice is not the pristine forehands he hits in his white visor but rather,  his endless energy, great work ethic and leadership on and off the courts..

John is always the first to help pick up tennis balls after drills and he is the last to sit down to take water breaks. Furthermore, Rupp is a great sport - he wins and loses matches the right way. Earlier this week at the U18 area championships, Rupp was recognized by USTA for his outstanding sportsmanship. Many younger players look up to John, and we appreciate what he brings to Hastings tennis. Congrats John!
